Students at the University of Tehran held a gathering on Saturday, December 6, 2008, to mark the Student Day and to protest policies of the government.  In particular the students were demanding the following:

1. Freedom, security and democracy
2. Release of the imprisoned students.
3. Re-admittance of the suspended students.
4. Reinstatement of the fired faculty
5. Abolition of stoning and execution

Student Day Celebrated both by religious and secular student movements.
